Americans who go west in the 1820s and 1830s had little knowledge of what the round off would be like. There are a lot of gibe about the Indians. White neighbors had a strong stereotype against subjective American settlement. Unfortunately, after I did my research I discover that, white settlers stereotyped the Native Americans as savage, heartless beasts. When people go out into the frontier all the biased opi nions they had been fed went with them. They took the accessible pictures that the media of the day proposed and made them real in their minds eye. But the consternation they took with them was almost completely unfounded and the prejudices they had usually disappeared as they watched and adopt firsthand what the Indians were really like.

The interest in the Native American culture was slap-up and far-reaching.
